The application should have the ability to be deployed / updated like any other Office Package, either via the Office 365 Pro Plus CTR approach or traditional patching. It should also respect Group Policy for control of user settings and ability to disable features that may infringe corporate security policies.

Group Policy ability PLEASE...modifying the User.zip to get the settings.xml file is not practical for any enterprise.

Extremely necessary to maintain an automatically updated environment.

Locally installed software (from Microsoft), traditional MSI etc, should be update-able for non-admins using WSUS and/or Windows Update. The new mode to update via other methods is over complicating corporate environments. MS is making apps that update themselves like Teams (installed to a profile), while making MSI versions of the same software for VDI that DO NOT UPDATE, while making apps like Power BI that cannot be installed or updated by non-admins. Neither of these "modern" apps are available for patching via WSUS. This situation is ridiculous.

We also would like to have some admx-template to adjust settings with a group policy object (GPO). This would be very helpful when it comes to an enterprise deployment.

Also because of the high update frequency of Power BI Desktop it would be good to have such a feature. It would help to keep the settings on clients up to date. Especially when the available settings change from version to version this is the only way how to handle this in an enterprise deployment.

I am unable to update my PowerBI desktop since I got my new PC this past summer. Appreciate any improvements to this process.

There has to be a way to keep PowerBI updated and standardized throughout the organization.

I highly agree, my Micrsoft & Adobe patches are 100% automated via SCCM ADR's with the exception of Power BI Report Server & Power Bi Desktop.
At the very least a SCUP Catalog including the updates, would be extraordinary.
