As a person building dashboards for construction companies, I need a way to easily pull in BIM model data from Autodesk products into Power BI. This allows me to analyze various quality and project progress metrics and sharing that analysis with multiple teams...without needing them to know BI...
Vote on this idea if you want expand/collapse on column headers in the matrix similar to what was shipped for row headers in November (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse).
It would be great if Grand Totals on a Matrix or Table would add up correctly to the sum of the rows when you include MEASURES in the visual. Currently the total on a measure consists of the measure function itself, instead of the sum of the rows above. PLEASE give us the option to toggle totals ...
Moving this idea to "under review" to mark that discussions are underway. For full transparency, we have started working on DAX calculations at the visual level. That feature will make changes that will serve as building blocks for other features, including but not limited to the one discussed in this idea: providing more flexibility for influencing what is shown on the total: the visual total, the "DAX" total, or another expression altogether.
Hence, the delivery of this Idea will be dependent on the DAX-calculations-on-a-visual feature.
New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.
[Status]Currently, when using SAP HANA Database connector, it is only possible to use 'technical names'.Since SAP HANA Database connector uses the SAP ODBC driver, and ODBC connection uses technical name as the value of database field, it is by-design that only 'technical name' i...
Allow a user to set the default value for a slicer or tile-by value on a page/dashboard, so that when the Power View page is opened for the first time, the default value is selected. eg. If the page has a slicer for Year or Month, allow the user to configure the most recent Year or Month to be se...
Thanks for everyone's votes and comments. This is a feature on our backlog; however we cannot share a timeline at the moment.
It looks like many of the requests will be addressed by the new 'Sticky filters' capability. Now when you log out of Power BI and come back to a report, the same items will be selected as when you left. For those who're looking to have a 'last month' selection, the relative date slicer might help. Those with comments about currencies where having multiple selected makes the report meaningless - the report will load with whatever selection the author saved, so if you save it with one currency selected your users will see that by default. If there are scenarios that these features don't address, please let us know in your comments - if you are really specific it'll help us build the feature to work just the way you want! Thanks again!
The basic Slicer in power bi already has a search feature. My request is to add a way to select all search results in one click. For example, say I search a text column in the slicer for all values with "ipad" and I get 200+ results returned in the slicer. It would be super helpful if you coul...
I should be able to order the "legend" and the values for each legend category in a stacked bar chart. This is similar to "series order" feature in Excel
Thanks for the feedback. Vote to keep updated on progress for this item.
Pro users have the ability to schedule refresh for daily (intra day) and weekly. For some datasets, monthly is the right cadence. Can we have a scheduled refresh option that is Monthly (and lets us choose which day of the month the refresh is to occur)?
Imagine there is a place (like I did using the calculation groups), where you can create a DAX based user defined function that generates a certain type of SVG visualization. Now you can add visual level calculation like SVG_Variance = UDF_SVG_VARINCE([Sales],[Previous Sales],...
Hi all, we are currently reviewing this idea. Stay tuned!
