New app "Audiences" feature - add ability to "view as" an audience for admins

When troubleshooting the new "audiences" feature of apps, it would be great if (as an admin) you could select which audience to view as. This would make it much easier to reproduce exactly what an end user is seeing.

Thanks,

Scott

Enable Dataflows Gen2 to access a lakehouse "Files" section as a folder vs. individual files

A Gen2 dataflow can currently access individual files stored in the "Files" section of a lakehouse - but it doesn't seem able to access these using a "Folder" object. In Dataflows Gen1 I could store multiple files in a location, and using a "Folder" source they could be combined into a single ...

OneLake file explorer - package as something other than .msix

OneLake file explorer downloads as a .msix file. These files can only be opened if you also download Microsoft App Installer from the Microsoft store. But our corporation (and honestly all health care corporations I've worked at) block the store with no exceptions. Which makes it impossible fo...

Fabric notebooks - better integration in workspaces (running icon, last run date/time, launch via ... menu)

To run a notebook in Fabric, you currently have to actually open the note book, run the cells, and then close out of the notebook. These "can" be integrated via a pipeline, but I feel that notebooks should just inherently support standard workspace interactions on their own. These interactions...

Fabric pipelines - better integration in workspaces (running icon, last run date/time, launch via ... menu)

To run a pipeline in Fabric, you currently have to actually open the pipeline, navigate to the run menu and kick it off. Pipelines should (like other Power BI items) support:

  1. Add a "refresh now" icon in the workspace (just like dataflows and semantic models have)
  2. ...

Role playing dimensions in Fabric

We need true role playing capabilities for dimensions in Fabric. Currently, you can include a table only a single time in a semantic model that uses DirectLake. This makes it impossible to use a dimension as a role playing dimension - for example, our date table as admit date, discharge date, ...

Support TRUNCATE TABLE in Fabric Warehouse

We really need the ability to truncate tables in the warehouse. For really large tables, if you have to completely delete all the data and reinsert, using the DELETE command just takes way too long.

Thanks!

Support better and/or "global" setting of spark.conf.set properties

I've seen that by default Notebooks write table names in Lakehouses in all lower case. Setting the following solves the problem - but I'd like this setting to either be the default (I don't understand why anyone would "want" things to default to lower case) or to set some sort of "global param...

Pipeline Metadata activity - add additional items

The pipeline metadata activity currently only allows finding metadata on Lakehouse Tables and Files, and Warehouse Tables. It would be great to add the ability to retrieve names and GUIDs for all Fabric artifacts it can source.
