Customizing filter for default selection is good to have feature. For Example, if month is displayed in filter, so allowing filter to select Current month automatically will be a great add on feature.

RE: Customizing Filters with Some Default selected value

We have several hundred end users, and they don't understand why we can't default a dashboard to be the current date. We get comments that it is a basic function that they expect, and it is causes issues, especially with new users. Overall, it does not feel very "Enterprise."

Team, please incorporate this default filter setting option as it is a very common need for end users.

I do have similar requirement with default selection. In Year and Month slicer the default selection must be available max year and available max month. Whenever the report executes then the default selection should Max year and Max month.

RE: Customizing Filters with Some Default selected value

I agree this is badly needed.

Right now for time you can do a relative date but that is ALWAYS from today's date backwards. What if I want to do a sliding window of 6 months but I don't want it from today's date? There should be a way to specify default values by entering DAX into the filter properties. Something like a calculated column where it can evaluate the situation and then select the first date of a period, or show 6 months but starting with the end of the last month, etc... This is especially useful for data where the WH is loaded in stages, such as end of month sales data. I don't want to see the data for today (the 15th) I want to see the data for the last 6 months starting with a dynamic condition. Additionally, when you do use a relative date selection, the user can NOT change the begin/end dates anymore. The filter visual should allow you to click it and specify a start/stop by picking the calendar dates.

RE: Customizing Filters with Some Default selected value

I agree, I want to have some filters with default values already selected.
in my case, I want to select the last 3 months by default, after this the user can change the months.
