I LOVE Shared Datasets. It would be great if we could save as a report from one Workspace to Another. This would enable departments to make official reports their own by customizing them for their own (shared) purposes.

I think dataset can be shared via content packs. However, people have being saying that content pack will be deprecated in the near future. Please vote for content pack to stay using this link below,

In a team who is working in the same but with different perspectives is ideal not to invent the wheel again. If the dataset is share then the team work will be improve.
Also in the case when a life connection is done and it is update using the Enterprise gateway don't have any sense if many persons are using the same connection (for example to a OLAP Cube) to "install" the Enterprise gateway again and refresh the same data that someone already updated.
If the dataset is share then the Enterprise gateway can be installed only in a server 24 by 7 and not in the laptop of a user who on vacation/out office hours/travels we will lost the data.
