In Data Colors, I would like to be able to select color from a continuous scale, rather than discrete set of colors. This would work for ordinal columns (numeric and date data types).
Perhaps this is more complicated because it means mapping a column onto an aesthetic, so really Color should be field in the visual?

RE: Continuous color palettes
2023 and still a need. Please consider even with low votes.
RE: Continuous color palettes
Currently only discrete colors are available, or continuous colors through conditional formatting. The gap is continuous colors for specific charts when legend/color is already full.I.e. Clustered bar chart with item in the legend category is forced to have discrete colors, but with out it I can set conditional formatting with a gradient. Line chart should have an option for coloring each lines with continuous colors. This is standard is most other graphing/charting software. I don't want to color markers differently, I want to color all lines with a continuous bar.Generally, power BI has very weak color bar management options compared with other tools, which is a problem for scientific work where continuous color bars are used heavily.
RE: Continuous color palettes
I would like to see where you could just format bar charts with faded gradients to make them appear 3d
