Paginated Reports / PDF Reports - SSRS like functionality built into Power BI
Azure / Power BI needs a PaaS or SaaS reporting service for paginated reports...i .e. PDF, HTML, or Excel file output. Needs access to same data sources as Power BI and web based report design / authoring like Power BI.
These kinds of reports may be old school compared to dashboards with drill-downs, etc...but they are still a mainstay of the enterprise.
We should not have to stand up an on prem SQL Server or a SQL VM in Azure just to get these kinds of reports.
We have Azure SQL DB, Azure QL DW, Azure Data Factory, and Power BI. SSRS via a PaaS or SaaS offering is the only missing piece!

Now that we have paginated I really need the email capability of sending out Excel or CSV. We now have great models but we need to share data with vendors/internal customers so they can process files.

I agree with all the comments! We want to go from Power BI to the detail SSRS report, but also want it for Power BI Embedded. We want sub reports, shared data sources, all the out of the box stuff SSRS has that is mainly used. The cross pollenation of Power BI with SSRS like with PBI data sets is nice, but not something I would head for out of the gate. Get basic functionality working first, then nice to haves later. Getting nice to have Power BI datasets is nice, but not required.

Also getting PDF and Excel, CSV exports are also a requirement.

Or on 2nd thought, to the Power BI team (ideas.powerbi.com) since it may/may not land there.
So if Power BI Team is looking into this ideas then maybe they will be willing to do that fr us.

Still looking for this. Probably not as a Power BI add-on or enhancement but as a separate tool. Make a new PaaS or SaaS version of SSRS in Azure....and integrate between Power BI and this new tool.
Pretty looking paginated reports with headers, footers, etc...put info PDF...are still asked for by end users...especially executives and sales reps that want to forward on content without the downstream folks having to login to a dashboard app.

I see a ton of SSRS related posts...
Lots of integration with SSRS seems to be there or comingbut no replacement for SSRS itselfto build SSRS reports I need fat client tools and a SQL Server VM. No way man! ;)

We can either extend Power BI so that it works more like a traditional reporting tool - or we can change it so that it works better with existing reporting tools. You are advocating the former. I'd just say that if Microsoft does the latter (changes it so that it works better with existing reporting tools), one way this could be done is by allowing parameter passing from Power BI to SSRS reports, to facilitate drill down or "drill across."

At least setting up header and footer. Plus option for tables in the bottom of Power BI page to be paginated + option to fix header of the table to be printed on each page.
