If a dataflow refresh fails, currently the data stored is empty (no records). This may cause problems on further linked dataflows and datasets using the first dataflow. To overcome this the stored data should only be overwritten when the refresh was successful, thus reading the unsuccessfully updated dataflow will give the data of the last successful refresh.

RE: Dataflow refresh failed: keep data of previous succesfull refresh.
I would simply love a toggle button for the config of a data flow that said: "Retain previous data if refresh fails". Along with a good understanding of the implications of this by people who use it (which may be aided with explanatory text near the config option), this would dramatically increase the reliability of the PowerBI infrastructure, especially in environments where data sources can be temperamental.
