There shouldn't be a limit to how far a user can filter his report by clicking visualizations.
At the moment a user might click on a category on one visual then the year on another visual - as soon as he clicks on another visual the filter is released on one of the existing visuals.
This really limits the guided analytics functionality of Power BI

OMG! Seriously! Totally!. this is a must have. Thank you to the person who advised on using the CTRL key when clicking to maintain the filters.

Doesn't holding Ctrl down as you filter do this? (That said, how are end users supposed to know this...)

Yes! Yes! Users are constantly asking why all the visuals reset when they click a sequence of visuals.

'@Mike in the comments below. I totally agree with your comment on the uncontrolled idea submitting. I think part of the issue is that we can search to see any ideas are already submitted, but we can't easily sort by ideas that have the most votes so we can jump on that to help Microsoft prioritize it. That's why I just created this idea.

This will greatly enhance intuitive navigation! The current filter options is suboptimal and slows down considerably. Tableau does this superior at the moment. (and clicking a select bar again would only deselect that filter)

HUGE need. Would really improve dashboard functionality and reduce the need for multiple filters on every page

There are other registered ideas that are almost the same as this one. This uncontrolled idea submitting option is not efficient. I think this is a really important feature but because of the inefficient registration does not get the votes it deserves (now its fragmented).
