When you set the data type for currency for a measure or a column, the default number of decimal points is Auto. If the value is a floating point value, then you will get something like 12.385923492345

This is not very useful for a currency format. It would seem to me to make more sense to either have the default as 0 decimals or 2 decimals.

RE: Default Decimal Currency

I'd like to tweak this request a little. Our dollar fields come to us rounded to 000s so I would like the option to set a default for currency to 1. So please don't default to 2 or 0, but rather let the developer decide what the currency default should be for that report.

I need this also. Our database stores currency values with 8+ decimal points. For currency we just want to see 2 decimal points, at most. This should be the default format for currency. I can always change it to 0 decimals if I want.

RE: Default Decimal Currency

weird that this isn't just the default behavior +112 digits of precision is definitely a little excessive
