Curently you can set the connection string via 'SetAllDatasetConnectionsInGroup' but only for direct query datasets. Unless this works for imported mode, I don't see how we can make SAAS offerings using imported mode.

Hi all, And thanks for your feedback! We recently released a new API- https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/mt814715.aspx Which helps update connection for AS & SQL, for DQ, live connection or import model. We will soon release support for more data sources, as well as ability to change parameters inside the connection string, which should handle rest of data sources.

RE: Allow setting connectionstring for imported mode via API

I'd like to second this request. I need to stripe out 1 report across 100+ different workspaces which should each read from their own unique Azure Data Lake Store.

If I can't programmatically point the dataset to other data sources, I'd need to manually edit each dataset in each workspace in power BI. That may be technically possible for this report, but I'm also trailblazing for future reports to be added. Extending this process across multiple reports is completely untenable.
