Currently, the Power BI Add-In functionality in PowerPoint works ONLY if you are a user of the same organization.
Scenario that is not working and would be nice to have:
Example of case, Joe.Smith@CompanyA.com publishes power bi report to web and shares the report to Adam.Doe@CompanyB.com. and he is a guest user (B2B). Adam can open the report in Power BI (app.powerbi.com). It would also be good to be able to load the URL in the power bi add-in for powerpoint.

RE: Power BI Add-In for PowerPoint to work for Guest (External) Users
Reading the article and Microsoft documentation, it is explicitly mentioned that the external users cannot access Dashboards:"If you share a dashboard with someone outside of your organization, and thereby, a user who isn't in your Power BI tenant, that user can't export the shared dashboard's associated reports to PowerPoint".So, is it ONLY a limitation for Dashboards, and not Report pages or Report pages in an App? This seems unclear. Our external users get that "PowerBIEntityNotFound"-error in PowerPoint, but not sure if this due to those limitations or actually something else.RegardsKim
RE: Power BI Add-In for PowerPoint to work for Guest (External) Users
Thanks for creating this idea. I cannot understand why Microsoft keep missing key functions like this and access from B2B users. It's the same with open in Excel even if that is possible with a "hack".Anyway - the devs needs to step up!
RE: Power BI Add-In for PowerPoint to work for Guest (External) Users
Confirmed with Microsoft Support the limitation and details of issue and analysisIssue Definition: External user has issue with viewing Power BI report in after adding into Power Point. Analysis and Resolution: While investigating this issue over screen share, we verified that the external user is having the admin access to workspace and dataset. External user is able to view the report in Power BI Service successfully. The issue is only adding Power BI Report into PowerPoint. According to the documentation from Microsoft- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/collaborate-share/end-user-powerpoint#considerations-and-limitations under the considerations and limitations section,Some reports cannot be exported. These include:If you share a dashboard with someone outside of your organization, and thereby, a user who isn't in your Power BI tenant, that user can't export the shared dashboard's associated reports to PowerPoint. For example, if you're aaron@contoso.com, you can share with david@cohowinery.com. But david@cohowinery.com can't export the associated reports to PowerPoint. Since the export to Power Point option won't work for external user, this functionality is unfortunately a limitation of the product as of now. We can verify that the report works fine if the host tenant user opened the PowerPoint with power bi reported embedded.
