I can copy the visual either as image or data table and paste it in other applications.

March 2022 Update: We are looking into this

We recently released the ability to export data from tiles and visuals to a CSV file. This may work for y'all as a workaround until we add the ability to directly copy and paste the visual or data. You can read more about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/powerbi/archive/2016/01/06/power-bi-service-update-0106.aspx#exportTile. Be sure to let us know what you think about the feature!

After more than 8 years, this is still only "planned"? Really???Even the Link to a workaround does not work anymore...We distribute large Data via our webpage to a broad audience. They use it for their own calculations, for benchmarking etc. They sometimes need just few data and not millions. So we need a way to let them get this specific data in an easy way, without distraction!

Try the Inforiver custom visual which has a feature to copy the data displayed in your visual and also have formatted Export to Excel or PDF with the entire data.

You can copy/paste the data to other application using Inforiver for Microsoft Power BI. You can also customize and export formatted statements to pdf/excel. These reports can also be scheduled to email and other destinations such as One Drive, Share Point, Teams channel etc.

RE: Copy/paste the data behind the visual in Power BI to other applications

Yeah, it's kind of crazy that end users cannot copy/paste, or otherwise export data in a way that Qlikview, Tableau, etc., has been able to do for years.

Is the MS policy simply to drive users to Report Builder/SSRS rather than throw in more xml? Having to build the visuals, measures, and format them in Power BI AND Report Builder is not efficient. Yet, this is the only way to do it Power BI. Try to convince an entire team of end users to export a custom Matrix. They'll ask you to build more in Qlikview and wonder why you're employed in Power BI.

In the Export data to xlsx feature, simply add the ability to export format's, too. Please remove Power BI's dependency on Report Builder/SSRS.

Come on guys, we're now in 2021 and we still can't copy the underlying data. If it really is so difficult to implement please explain it to us instead of ignoring this request.

Still only planned? Really? This feature is so essential I couldn't imagine that it is not yet implemented...
All the workarounds are so silly and unsatisfying - not really professional. Please implement that - can't be a huge thing.

Export is not the same as copy/paste when the report is embedded to the web. Our company currently does not allow export data due to privacy concerns.
