Microsoft Fabric currently supports usage of R packages hosted on CRAN (https://cran.r-project.org/). However, this support only works for in-line installation which means our packages do not persist and are not available when a Notebook session is concluded. With workspace level support, we would no longer experience this limitation and R packages could be made available at the workspace level to allow for a shared environment that supports our required packages for all users of our workspace.

This feature is in longer term plan list, but deferred for the on-going semester. More votes would help to prioritize it.
