Add a report based on a shared dataset to an app, *without* being a member of the dataset workspace

For example: a shared dataset resides in WorkspaceA (all users have the Build permission). Alice uses Power BI Desktop to connect to the dataset, and publishes her report to WorkspaceB. Alice is a member of WorkspaceB, but not WorkspaceA. The issue is that she cannot add her report to the app in WorkspaceB.

But she should be able to! In our case, the reason we have WorkspaceB is so that "end users" like Alice can publish content, but for security reasons, they must not be members of WorkspaceA. So, please enable this?

RE: Add a report based on a shared dataset to an app, *without* being a member of the dataset workspace

The documentation I referenced previously no longer mentions the "known issue." And we did some testing, and this appears to have been fixed. Thanks!

I believe this idea can be closed.

RE: Add a report based on a shared dataset to an app, *without* being a member of the dataset workspace

If you go here...
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-datasets-across-workspaces#considerations-and-limitations

...it currently acknowledges that...
"If you want to add a report based on a shared dataset to an app, you have to be a member of the dataset workspace. This is a known issue."

So, this idea is just to fix that "known issue!" Since it has been acknowledged as a known issue, maybe there is already a plan to "fix" it? I hope so! Thanks!
