In Mathematics, the set of whole numbers does not include negatives.

I suggest the Power BI Team change the name to Integer, to quiet the nagging Mathematicians.

I disagree with the disagreement about Excel's Int() function. That should not be a consideration, because the symantics of functions are defined in the implementation and the associated documentation.  Also, Excel users are not the primary class or cohort of Power BI users.

The common definition of a whole number is that they cannot be negative.  That is what are children are learning in school.

RE: Update Label for 'Whole number' data type to 'Integer'

I’m going to disagree here. In Excel the INT() function truncates the number just returning the integer portion. In power query changing to Whole Number rounds. If the term were changed to Integer it would do something different then Excel’s INT() function does.

I’m not saying it is right, but it is less confusing for excel users.
