RE: import column description
This would be incredibly useful, definitely gets my vote!
RE: import column description
This would be very useful. We have several datasets and they use many common views as a source. It make mush more sense for us to update the Extended Properties ( column descriptions ) in the SQL tables and Views and have this data consumed into Power BI Datasets. As other have noted that way the definition is updated in a single location and is consistent across all business units.
RE: import column description
This would be very helpful for customers who have most of their underlying data in SQL. This means that the descriptions are maintained at the source and not at the report level.
RE: import column description
An API solution will be ideal to allow interaction with existing Data Governance tools.
RE: import column description
Why am i unable to vote for this?
RE: import column description
this would be ground breaking - i really hope there is an easy way of documenting Power BI calaulcations so that they are accesible to the business
We currently use Dataedo for documenting our SQL views yet logic gets lost in PBI datasets i.e. parameter calculations
RE: import column description
This would be really useful. I like the idea of having a data dictionary in an excel file as well as having the descriptions populated in Power BI, but I don't like the idea of having to manual change in both places when something happens.
