The previous App UI, we can hide report pages in app settings, and we can use cross report drill-through with the target reports hidden. This was a great way to build a simple app. But in contrast to the previous APP UI, the new UI cannot hide the target report (there is only feature which grants the user access to) So the distributor must locate the target report so that it is visible, and this can be a complex and confusing part of the app building for the user.

We would like you to release the feature in the new App UI which hides the report itself from navigation pane, while still having access to the report.

RE: Revival of report hiding feature in New App UI

I used to be able to hide all Paginated Report (sub-reports) in the Power BI App, now, with the current version, it seems they only run if they are visible, is that a bug ?Showing all sub-reports is very confusing to the end user. In the meantime,... We ended up collecting them in a collapsed group at the bottom of the list (still not visually correct)(Reason why we used sub-reports..., I'm converting/re-writing 2500 SAP BO WEBI and Crystal Reports into Power BI Paginated Reports, the design was already done)

Not sure how anyone could even use the App without this technical ability.

Subreports enable dynamic reports via multi level looping and conditional logic to enable display of these sub elements. Forcing me to expose these hidden nested elements to my end user in order for them to find a link to the report in an app confuses them and defeats the point of the subreport functionality.

Thanks for posting. I've merged this with a similar idea and changed the status to "Needs Votes".Those who vote on this, can you share more specifics about how you might want to surface a link to hidden content? We've heard one example being linking to a hidden 'report' from within another 'report'. Any others?Thank you 🙌

RE: Revival of report hiding feature in New App UI

When we hide report/dashboard in navigation pane and have app tile linked to hidden content it is leading to the landing page instead of the content itself.
Navigation pane should not influence linking on the dashboard itself - we do not want to show all content on the navigation pane, but still want to keep linking funcionality on the App level.

This is PBI service related bug, on mobile links are working as expected.
