There is a DAX XIRR function which works great. However, when considering equal time periods such as monthly or yearly, the XIRR results are very close but not exact to what we would get if we were using the Excel IRR functions. It would be very helpful to have an IRR function which works similarly to the Excel IRR function.

RE: Create an IRR function

This is still relevant. Being able to reconcile calculations done in Excel using NPV and IRR would be helpful. In our case, being able to reconcile prices calculated in Excel and Power BI is important, and the 365 day calendars in XNPV and XIRR throw off the numbers in meaningful ways.

RE: Create an IRR function

Moreover, the XIRR () DAX function often returns, "The XIRR function couldn't find a solution" when it works perfectly fine in Excel with identical data. This is a well known bug in Power BI.

Microsoft's response is that Power BI's implementation is different than Excels. This is not a satisfactory answer.
