Due to report complexity it now takes many minutes (ie>5min often times) to do something as simple as create a measure.
I would like the ability to stop the calculations so that I can do a bunch of updates and then apply them at once, as I don't need to see the results while working. Just like setting calculations to manual in Excel.

Desperately need this. Working on a complex PowerBI report has become incredible tedious as I spend so much time waiting for the spinning circles to stop...

Very very important the inability to stop calculation is frustrating and time-consuming, it's taking 10 times longer to work on complex reports. This feature would be greatly welcomed.

I'm surprised this isn't there already. A kill switch for measures/calc columns that have been mistakenly created to consume tonnes of memory would be great too

I have 20 reports to compile. Each one needs to retrieve 200+ data items from an SQL database. I then have to add hundreds of additional calculations/measures.
To write one report is taking DAYS of my time...mainly spent waiting for "Power" BI to respond. The report isn't looking at the SQL Database (It can't because I've moved it to another machine which is not connected to it) But it STILL takes forever.
This is not efficient - no wonder people prefer spreadsheets! They're far more developer friendly than this.

Please. Please. Please. I spend so much time on this that PowerBI is almost unusable.
