OMS dashboards are very limiting. But the data collected is very powerful if it can be exported and correlated with other data sources

RE: Add the ability to tap into the data collected by the Operations Management Suite (OMS) in Azure
There are 2 products in play here - the powerbi service (the website) and powerbi desktop. each product has unique capabilies that are not shared. researching problems becomes unnecessarily complex when the products are treated as one.
The capability to export OMS data to a powerbi datasource appears appears to accessible from the web product only. Glad it is possible, but several disconnects exist with the overall solution.
There is no opportunity to transform any of the data - and apparently no method of accessing via the typical PBI tools (PBI desktop, Excel). When connecting the powerbi data from excel, one is greeted with a warning that no measures were found. Wish I could do something about that...
The dataset only exists within the web powerbi service - no ability to access it via PBI desktop, can't access dataset/datamodel via excel. Without the ability to create "measures", the excel data connection is not useful. Halfway done here, hope the rest of the needed work in this area is completed soon.
RE: Add the ability to tap into the data collected by the Operations Management Suite (OMS) in Azure
'The Power BI Preview what is exists in OMS is very limited. NO real-time data analysis, and it is publishing only to Power BI Service, not reachable from Power BI Desktop. And the Desktop edition has much richer feature set, such as:
- conditional formatting
- connect to multiple DataSets paralelly / in the same time
- query editor
etc.
