Forecasting and trend lines DO NOT work if you are using your own custom fiscal calendar. MOST businesses have fiscal periods that don't align perfectly with calendar periods. If a custom date hierarchy is used, forecasting and trend lines should still work. It pretty ridiculous to have to tell executives that a trend line cannot be added to a visual.

This should be merged with an older idea on the same topic.https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=c58ddf2d-959f-4618-a617-4937c730c224

I would like to know if there is an update on being able to use a custom date hierarchy for forecasting. I agree it's pretty ridiculous to have to tell executives that a trend line cannot be added to a visual.

Interesting, I would like to understand a little bit more about how these trend lines are not working. I use custom date all the time and they work. Also when I make a linear regression measure I am pretty sure it matches the trend lines, however now I want to explore this a touch more if the value are identical.
