An SAP customer views itself as SAP customer first and foremost. A typical SAP company will have $MM+ investment in SAP Business Warehouse (BW). Today, Microstrategy, Tableau and ClickView allow direct connectivity to it. Currently, hundreds of thousands of users worldwide (if not millions) run Business Explorer (BEx) reports against BW and then use VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS and SUMIFs to deliver final content to business audiences. Having this connectivity would make their lives much easier and make PowerBI incredibly relevant and important.

RE: SAP Connector for Power Query
FYI, 40% of US EPG customers run SAP, 50% of US EPG revenue comes from these customers
RE: SAP Connector for Power Query
Thanks for your feedback! We currently have support for SAP BusinessObjects in Power Query. We don't have an specific timeline for when we will add support for SAP BW but it is a request that we get often. Your comment in this forum will help us prioritize it accordingly.
RE: SAP Connector for Power Query
Unfortunately, BEx queries cannot be exposed via SAP BusinessObjects Universe, so having Power Query access BW directly (Infocubes, Multiproviders and BEx) would give Power BI HUGE advantage over BobJ.
The vast majority of self service scenarios for an SAP customer will center on BW access and it is very uncommon for companies to expose BW data using BobJ
