It would be great to write back functionality in Power BI so that users in PowerBi desktop or PowerBI web service can write back to an SQL server database or to a Sharepoint list. It is very important when planning budgeting, budget follow-up and forecasts

RE: write back
Please add a write-back functionality to Power BI in order to support financial planning models.
RE: write back
Currently using powerapps for writeback but it would be really nice to see the functionality within Power BI Desktop and Web, where we can combine direct query and writeback feature.
RE: write back
Hi,
There are two great options for write back for both row level SQL editing in Power Apps, and more Corporate Performance Mangement functionality in Visual Planner from Power ON. Both works great.

RE: write back
I currently use the writeback functionality of SSAS in combination with Excel. But it would be a next step to use PowerBI. An example of a vendor who is already developing a solution is PowerOnBI.
But rolling it out in large organizations would be much easier if Microsoft supported and developed this technology.
RE: write back
Agree with Juerg. I work in a corporate accounting department. We are currently using Adaptive Insights because it has the writeback capability for budgeting and forecasting.
RE: write back
For the purpose of corporate performance management as budgeting and the simulation of scenarios, write back functionality is a must. Espacially the guys from the Financial Controlling Dept. would apreciate it very much! Often the lack of this feature is the reason why companies cannot rollout Power BI licenses in all of their business units.
Perhaps Microsoft should think of acquiring something like https://www.tagetik.com/
