In many cases it is required to select some months in the slicer (slider) and not day precise. A granularity level should be added to the date inputs section of visual format.

I totally support this idea, it cannot be so difficult to implement :)

Can't believe this idea has so little votes :-(

Date slider is such a fantastic and handy tool for filtering timeline, but unfortunatelly it works only as long as you have daily data granularity in you visual (which is a rare case I believe).

It would be great if we could filter timeline using a slider by months, or years, or by any other data range in our calendar tables.

Yes, this would be very useful.

How about this for an idea:
When a slicer is set to Slider, you can set these properties:
Slider Value: a numeric or date field which drives the sliding values. e.g. an integer YearMonth field from a date table.
Slider Label field (optional): the field that is displayed for the selected Slider Values. For example, you could set the Slider Label to a field YearMonthMmm-yyyy, so the slider would display the selected YearMonth values as Jan-2020.
Slider Value Format: The display format for the Slider Values. Can only set either this or Slider Label. For example, if the Slider Value is set to a Date field, you could set this to "Mmm-yyyy". Power BI should only allow distinct values of the slider to be displayed.
