Have 2 alternative and optional names for a measure 1) a natural language alternative name and 2) a short display name. In a large model measures necessarily have detailed and precise names to differentiate them. This means they do not respond well to natural language Q&A and they visualizations end up with obscure labels - I can of course get round this by adding 2 new measures one with the natural language name and the other with the short name which both are just equal to the original measure, but that is a little cumbersome.

I've signed up to post the same as well. I need to have very specific naming for each measure, but I want a secondary name to display on visuals.

Signed up in order to post the same. Working on reports for several franchises across multiple countries. If I'm creating, say, a market share measure, then I have to be really specific with the naming of the measure (e.g. Francise_X_2015_Market_Share_Country_Y). But in a table or on a chart I want this to just read 'Market Share 2015'.
