Needs VotesNeed a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD

Current page-level filters allow us to look at relative months and years as simple "months" or "calendar months". "Calendar months" always excludes the current MTD, but that's exactly the range that I'm often looking for: Select data for whole prior months and MTD for the current month.

RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
Agree, there missing option like "include this period" for all "calendar" periods in relative date filter/slicer. There is potentialy setting "Anchor date" which can help, but this also not working correctly. There is new Idea addressing both, please vote also here:https://ideas.fabric.microsoft.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=9578f230-ef1b-ee11-a81c-000d3a0ec312
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
"In the past X months" not showing the Current months data - not sure how this is excusable. No Business user can ever be OK with this. It is wrong :)
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
This is surely a priority feature! Pretty much every report I work on calls to show the current month +/- x number of months (or weeks, or quarters, or years for that matter!!) There is no easy / clean workaround that can be implemented. At present, my users have to change the filter to see different cuts of the data which is not an ideal user experience.

Yes! the ability to include the current week, month, quarter, year is very much a needed addition to he relative dates function. couldn't be that hard to do and bring this into line with business use.
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
An "Include Current [Week; Month; Year]" option for the Calendar Weeks, Calendar Months and Calendar Years selections of the Relative Date filter. For instance, I use my [Date] column as a filter and choose the following:
"Filter Type:
[Relative Date]
Show items when the value:
[is in the last]
[3]
[calendar months]"
There would be a checkbox labeled "include current [week; month; year]." This would provide the ability to return current week-to-date, month-to-date or year-to-date values in addition to the previously specified number of periods.
This is useful any time you want to intermingle historical and current information like showing last year's and current year's revenue continuously.
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
Today you have only two options to filter months in the page level, with the relative option
Assume we are now in the middle of Nov. 2020 and I want to show the last 6 months dynamically.
When I select Last 6 months, I get all the data starting from November 15th back -180 days. It is not covering half of January...
When I select last 6 *calendar* months I do not get November at all.
There must be a way to really filter on last 6 months and not let the filter translate months to days...
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
An improvement I'd like to see on the relative date slicer is the ability to select an option for "This and Last" xx "Years/Months/Days/etc". So if I want to compare at a glance a chart with this year's numbers with the last 2 it would be a lot easier.
RE: Need a relative dates filter allowing "calendar months" including current MTD
When you choose "last 12 calendar months" it would be useful to include the current month. It's frustrating that the end date is for last month and not today's date.
Maybe don't hide the "Include today's date" option that appears for "last 12 Months". Or, add another option named "Include current month".
