My company is looking to work with comments in reports, which is pretty great. I now receive quite some ideas for improvements, so I thought I'd put them here:
- edit comments after placing them
- format text in comments (enumerate, headers, bold/italics/underline)
- create an overview of all comments (perhaps with possibility to download/analyse?)
- improved comment management for admins:
- delete all comments in one go
- move old but important comments to an archive
- some form of (row-level) security on comments (saw another idea about private comments, only share with those who are tagged. Seemed to be a good solution too!)
- Comments (3)
RE: Comment improvements
Current limit of maximum 100 comments / conversations is restricting usability of PowerBI when you have a central role, starting conversations with many (groups of) people. In case expanding this limit can not be done, additionally/alternatively:can an automatic cleanup/archive feature be added, andadd search function so it is easier to find previous threads of communication and continue
RE: Comment improvements
Drive cell-level collaboration with other stakeholders through interactive commenting. Capture cell-level comments with details such as author & posted time, use @ symbol to tag other stakeholders; assign tasks & track status, receive notifications when someone tags you, assigns a task or responds to your comment and many more.Editing comments after placing them, formatting text in comments (enumerate, headers, bold/italics/underline), creating an overview of all comments using comments digest, deleting all comments in one go are all possible using Inforiver.
RE: Comment improvements
Being able to see all comments for a report or app in a single place with the full context of where the comment was made would be so useful and reduce chances of missing comments/feedback
