Considering that a Gateway is very easy to be removed by human error, Will be considered in the next Gateway releases implement some deletion method (similar to the one used in Azure Portal for resources where you need to type the name of the resource as a security measure)? What happens if a gateway is deleted from the Power BI service? I'll not be able to recovery anymore right?
At least consider in having the two functionalities ( Add Data Source / Remove) separated from the gateway “right click” options.

RE: Gateway deletion
We just experienced a SIGNIFICANT production outage as a result of this exact issue. An end-user who is a power user in our organization was able to unintentionally delete our primary gateway cluster via the Power BI portal. This should absolutely NOT be something that can accidentally be done. There's currently no backup method or recovery method once the gateway is deleted this way. All of our connections were also removed and had to be re-established from scratch. I'm currently trying to figure out if the APIs will provide some sort of mechanism to pull these details as a 'backup' strategy but this shouldn't be something that must be done in a custom fashion. Considering the implications of removing a primary on-prem gateway cluster this is much too easy to do on accident as the original poster indicated.
RE: Gateway deletion
I agree with suggestion to force typing name as a security measure. In addition, would be helpful if there was an "undo" capability (i.e. within 30 days or a week)Orability to backup and restore data sources.Too easy to accidently delete a gateway cluster... and results can be catastrophic!
