When data labels are enabled on visualization types where data overlaps (such as clustered bar charts and line charts), there are occasions where data labels do not display, or it is difficult to tell which label corresponds to which bar/line. There should be better customization options for Data Labels, which would ease comprehension of various visualizations. In particular, for the varied types of bar charts:
- Label location: start of bar, middle of bar, end of bar, end of chart
- Label/Background colour matching: change the label's text or background to match the bar to which it corresponds
- Label Stacking? If a label would overlap with another, display both of them slightly offset, instead of only displaying one label.

From my opinion, the first two points of this idea are already properly addressed. However, the last point is still lacking. I am not able to enforce dispaly of each label when they would overlap or the sapce between tow columns becomes too small. It would be good to have a little bit more control here.

In the Main Dashboard, the Data Labels is ON, and the relevant values are shown within the Bar. When we drill-down, the Data Labels should not be shown within the Bar. How to manage this without touching the Visualisation? Please remember, when we publish this Chart to the Management, they are not the Developers/Designers to play with the Visualisation.

It would be great if we could use the labels of another column instead of the actual values from the field on the viz. For example, I have a diverging 100% stacked bar chart, and the negative values show as negative %. I want the negative value label to show as positive (all values add up to 100%). In Tableau, I can overwrite the label with the values from another field, I cannot in Power BI.

Also the ability to move the data points in the same way excel allows data pints to be moved whilst creating the line connection.

Agree, If you require all data labels to appear, even if overlapped then this should be allowed.

Completely agree with feature for improving data labels and customization of those labels. I'd classify this as a bug. there are times when data label is set to "Outside End" but the visual doesn't force resizing of the bars to let that happen so you still get the label inside the bar. Very unfortunate when labels and bars are the same colors, as is common in many designs. Also, the pie chart visual often cuts part of the label off and there's little to no way of fixing it.
