RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
Accelerating this to release will be the "killer" feature for many customers who are either happy with their current cloud stack or sticking to Power BI directly over their on-premise SQL. Please implement this or incorporate transactional replication from on-premise SQL to the newly announced Fabric Databases.
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
Many companies will not migrate to Fabric because this option is not available. Hopefully MS realizes it and add this ASAP!
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
This should absolutely be supported if you have an on-prem data gateway in place. We can create connections and use local sql databases for pipelines and other places, so this seems like an odd gap.
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
This is mandatory for my company and we are hopping this will be available on Q4 2024. Otherwise we'll leave Fabric to another cloud service that allows mirroring from SQL Server
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
We need this now, pls!
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
This would really help us move to fabric
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
OnPrem SQL DBs mirrored to Fabric would help a lot!
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
This feature will help us a lot to take advantage of SqlServers on Azuer VMs
RE: Fabric Mirroring for SQL Server
Many core systems are unlikely to be migrated to an Azure SQL database anytime soon, particularly large applications and being able to use Fabric mirroring to make that critically important and valuable data available in Fabric with little effort would enable the rapid integration of this data into analytics. Removing the data movement friction and letting us focus on modeling and analysis right away would provide substantial benefits.
