Almost 70 different date formats available and yet not one caters for "MMM" or "DDD" variations... eg. "dd MMM yyyy" without hyphens and dots.
The "MMMM" variations take up too much valuable presentation space - especially along the x-axis of charts - which forgive me but this is somewhat ironic for a data visualisation tool when display space is of a premium :)
Yes you can custom format and create calculated columns/measures to get around this but it is a work around and you can still get issues when trying to sort because it sorts alphabetically as text oppose to being sorted as an underlying date field... which then makes your chart a nonsense.
And finally, the main entry on this forum raising this issue has been marked as completed and can no longer be voted for - and yet there are lots of other individual low voted entries screaming for attention on this subject but are getting lost in the "mist"...
Food for thought I feel ?

RE: Date Formatting Again ?!!
Trying to get military date format which is missing too. dd MMM yyyy. Close but no cigar in the Modeling options.
RE: Date Formatting Again ?!!
This is driving me nuts, a whole load of options for the US date format, but not even the most basic option for the rest of the world (day-month-year). Why can't we have a simple d-m-y option?
