We have an saas based electronic billing application used by over 800 companies. We place report data files out on SFTP sites for each client. Is it possible to access data files on SFTP sites from Power BI?

RE: sftp
Can you please add this as a product enhancement?
RE: sftp
From a security standpoint, SFTP is very desirable and uses an existing security model that is approved by our governmental organization.
RE: sftp
It will be very useful.
RE: sftp
Adding this connection is an acknowledgment that there are existing data-sharing workstreams that PBI needs to connect to. FTP has been a standard method of sharing data for quite some time and this should be a priority in Microsoft's roadmap!
RE: sftp
Really could use this.
RE: sftp
This should have been one of the first data source types to be an option in Power Query!!! Come on... Data Connections 101
RE: sftp
Please add this feature! Begging you
RE: sftp
Must have feature!
RE: sftp
SFTP connectivity would be extremely helpful as our HRIS and related systems can be trained to drop routine reports into system adjacent SFTP locations. Please add this connector!
RE: sftp
Data sharing between large organisations (that are often bound by maintaining older systems) is often achieved via SFTP, so I believe this functionality will become invaluable as time passes and more of these larger organisations start using PowerBI. This is especially relevant when using PowerBI Gateway - the ability for the gateway to reach out to multiple places and retrieve data from an external party (since the gateway is sitting externally anyway) would be invaluable. Please consider this functionality before it gets to 1000's of votes! From a user perspective, this could simply be the same as 'Open File' connector, except with sftp:// being allowed as a source path!
