Gages need more control over settings

I have a Gage that displays a metric of 16.5, Target of 14, Min of 0 and Max of 30. But with all that information, I STILL don't know if I'm on target or not. Should I be BELOW 14, or ABOVE it? If I'm a NASCAR pit crew being measured by time (seconds) for a pit stop, 16.5 seconds is slow (LOWER i...

Custom Visuals documentation

Custom Visuals: LOVE them. Awesome stuff. BUT there appears to be little to NO documentation on how to actually utilize each one. There are scattered posts out there that describe one or the other. But it stops there. How about some WRITTEN documentation about EACH and EVERY custom visual in the ...

Bar Chart Label Area not wide enough for category labels, needs custom width property in Format

When creating a (horizontal) bar chart, often the space allocated for the axis (Y Axis: category or series) is not wide enough if the names are long. There should be an override setting in the Format page to adjust one way or the other. Also, there is the ability to place the labels on the RIGHT...

Disable individual fields for Quick Insights

Love the Quick Insights feature! But sometimes it finds insights that are sort of 'well, DUH'. Like: "We found a correlation between Area Code and State." What would be nice is the ability to mark a field or entire table in a dataset so that it is not reviewed by the Quick Insights scan. Fewer fi...

Make Text Box easier to format the text

This is close to a bug: After you have added a text box to your report canvas, typed something into it, and then go to format that text, depending on how you highlight the text, the format options may or may not disappear. If you highlight text with the clicking and holding the left mouse button,...

Add 'non-aggregating' option for matrix fields

The Matrix visual currently allows only TWO types of fields: * SUMMARY fields are those that get aggregated (SUM, MIN, MAX, etc.) and are added to the VALUES area. * DIMENSION fields are those by which the summary will be broken down. These go in the Rows and Columns area(s). There is a THIRD t...

AppSource needs better user interface

I really love that you can get 3rd party custom visual imported right into Power BI. But I don't like the user interface for it. * Years ago, the authors had the ability to post PBIX files that would help explain and show how their visual worked, with sample data and use cases. That's gone. * T...

navigation interactions

This one has bothered me for a while. The interaction of the Visualizations blade in respect to objects on the design canvas: If you search for a particular setting under the Format section, for example, then switch to another page, the focus goes BACK to the Fields area. What's more, any search ...

Bring back personal email logins for this site

The title above stands alone. Microsoft has FORCED us to use Work or School accounts for this site. I lost my connection to my personal email account on this site, something I have been cultivating for 5 years since UserVoice was first used for Power BI. What happens if I were to leave my curr...

Power Query Functions need strong RETURN DATA TYPES, not un-typed columns

This one has bothered me for a while. Why do Power Query Functions not have a Return Data Type like functions in C# and VB and T-SQL and just about every other coding language? For example, take the function Text.Combine. It combines multiple columns (which, by the way, must be of type TEXT) but...
