When users try to access to any POWER BI dashboard, which they don't have access to, it would be nice to custom Pop up to ask them to raise request to access it, instead of generic one.

RE: Custom "Request Access" pop up button

Agree this is a must have - we have different Apps for different teams based on what data they are permitted to see (GDPR) and it would save so much time if we could customise the message when they request access to be able to make it clear that if they are not part of that team, their request will be denied and what their options are.

Yes, this is a must have feature; there should a way to control that if a user is not allowed access to a report through the admin permissions management, there should not be a way for them to request access directly if they somehow are provided with a link to the report. This creates a lot of administrative overhead with notifications and requests and also creates risk of inadvertent granting of permission that circumvents access control decisions made at an AD level.

RE: Custom "Request Access" pop up button

We manage access through AAD groups so we would like to the ability to disable this email and replace it with a message so people know how to request access. Also, as others have mentioned for the App, this would depend on the audience someone was trying to access. We might want a different message for each app so they knew which group to use to request access to that audience.

This is even more important with the new app/audience functionality. How on earth am I supposed to know what audience a requestor should be placed in when the request is just a generic alert

It would also be good to make comments mandatory.Or better yet, be able to create a list of report, so the user can select which report(s) they are requesting access for.

A MUST HAVE for those managing access through AAD security groups.

RE: Custom "Request Access" pop up button

There is definitely a need for more customization for responding to access requests, both in the workspace and the app workspace, ideally on that level, not the tenant or admin level. Many orgs allow users to manage their own workspaces, so controlling this at the org level will be cumbersome for large organizations.

3 years and this basic feature still not available. Instead, we got a new UX that is worst the previous one... Is there a Product Owner prioritizing this backlog at all?

RE: Custom "Request Access" pop up button

This is an essential feature - Given the wide use of AD groups to control access (a practice provided by, and promoted by, Microsoft!) there is no way that this feature should be missing - the current situation creates mess and misunderstanding for every organisation administering PBI content via AD groups, with potentially hundreds / thousands of access requests being generated on a per-user basis which are categorically useless, with no way of removing that ability for any in-org individual, and no way of having the 'you don't have access' page tell them the correct way we are doing things.
