As an avid Power Query scripter I am missing a lot of the functionality found in modern editors. I think the Power Query editor needs an overhaul or complete re-make. Some much wanted features are: Better, or more specific error messages. Ability to test the Power Query script out-of-context from Power BI the report. Color scheme / theme selection. Syntax highlighting. Intellisense / code completion for json objects / lists / tables / records. Optionally, a stand-alone editor, similar to the ISE for Powershell or SSMS for T-SQL.
