The ability to display and create Filled Maps (choropleth) using the native SQL Server geometry/geography data types is a must to allow for meaningful geospatial visualization. e.g. Visualize crimes by police beat.

I support this. I have multi polygon defined by lat / long data and need to plot these outlines to which I can add layers of other values.

This is an absolute drawback for anyone working with spatial data.

This idea is shared since 2016. Look like never going to happen. Using Tableau it's look very simple, just drag and drop and then our map is ready instantly. Our map. Not US map as the default.
