Scenario: Your team is tasked with promoting transparency on a business process and builds a POC using Power BI for one customer. Your manager praises you and green lights rollout of the app on a much larger scale. You decide that to optimise the user experience, you will import the report into Azure Analysis Services using the Azure Portal.

After import, your instinctive workflow is to open up the pbix report and reconnect it to Azure Analysis Services as the data source. Except that doesn't seem to be possible.

You have to rebuild the report from scratch.

It would be less friction if the import into Azure Analysis Service came with a option (default = on) to select a subscription and workspace to publish an amended pbix that replaced the semantic model inside with a connection to the Azure Analysis Services model.

A similar feature as a toggle switch to split a data set from a pbix file and insert the Power BI service connector into the file instead. would also be desirable. And vice versa.
