We have many Excel files on SharePoint Online Document Libraries - well structured and maintained and refreshed. It would be great to be able to point to those directly. The OneDrive for Business is similar, but it would mean we have to duplicate the files from our existing SPO team site. So it would be great to access Excel files located on SPO team site document libraries.

RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
do we have a planned date for this yet?
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Getting data from Excel files on SPO should be an out of the box feature.
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Absolutely - if you do it via OneDrive there is no way a traditionnal SharePoint library should be overlooked. It would be great!!
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Allow Power BI to have a large document library with metadata column as a refreshable data source.
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Definitely want this. Let us manage the refresh of our excel workbooks ourselves, and then have PowerBI dashboards refresh based on that!
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Yes, this is exactly what we need as well! Please make it happen Microsoft! I agree with Yiannis, this should be standard
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
Add SharePoint online as a data source
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
We need to see the implementation of the new powerbi sites under E3 and E4 accounts.
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
We would like to collaborate our SPO telemetry reports in Excel files and access SPO files in Power BI directly and create dashboard tiles. Do not want to create extra work in storing files in OD4B.
RE: SharePoint Online Document Library
However you implement it, the "one stop shop" concept is going to be important. Users won't want to have to go to Power BI for dashboards, SSRS for reports and SPO for Excel OLAP analyses.
