When working and developing Power BI Desktop models, and by extension datasets on the service, there are many columns with numeric values that should not be aggregated. These include a year in a date table, a item number in a products table, and so on. Having to scroll through the entire model to set these as "Do Not Summarize" is tedious and unproductive, and accordingly having one place to change this setting would save time when starting a new model.

This would also halt the use of implicit measures, enabling DAX measures as the only method of aggregation, which greatly enhances the data modeling options.

This could go into the Options menu, and preferably is a Global setting, but could also work as a Current File setting.

RE: Add an option to force all table columns to the "Do Not Summarize" Default Summarization option

I absolutely agree. I'm to the point where I'd rather just take the memory hit and leave them all incorrectly summarized. Our PBI report builders NEVER use implied totals, or whatever you call them, and since Tabular Editor doesn't working to find and remove them any more, it's nothing but a pain. We make all our own measures, always have, always will. Also, I've noticed that after I change them to have [None] as the Summary By option, Power BI Desktop will re-apply them later. Please fix this, it's probably one of the worst bugs in Power BI.Notice how I don't call it a "feature".

Please make a setting which helps us stop auto summarization of all the columns. "Do Not Summarize" Default Summarization option.

RE: Add an option to force all table columns to the "Do Not Summarize" Default Summarization option

This is a very annoying feature. I have a huge data set, with a number of binned variables, and I have to set each one to don't summarize. Please change this behavior - you should be able to set this as a default or not.

Please add this feature. It is annoying constantly having to select columns for new imports and set them to "Don't summarize".

How does this not have more votes? I spent an annoying block of time yesterday turning off all summarization only to refresh the data today and somehow it's all summarized again....

Holy mother, yes please. It's extremely annoying to every time have to manually change every single column individually to don't summarize or summarize with other than SUM. AT LEAST allow to select multiple columns in the DATA sheet to change multiple columns at time to change summarization settings.

Please! Most numeric fields in the databases I have used are attributes. ie: County_Nbr , Month_Nbr.  It is just a waste of time to have to go through tables every time you create a new model and reset all the summarize options.

It should backwards, "Don't Summarize" by default, it's pretty annoying to change this.

Thanks!
