RE: source control
It is critical to have this implemented... It's already late for the grow of the market an power bi implementation...versioning, branching, merging, deployment (ci/cd) by git as a standard.commit, branches
RE: source control
This is a critical need, and without it the ability to produce complex multi-developer dashboards is extremely limited compared to other tools where VCS like Git can be used directly (e.g. Plotly Dash).
RE: source control
Please provide update on the status, 8 years and still no official source control.
RE: source control
Any update on when this may be released.
RE: source control
No serious software development can take place without good software engineering practices being in place.Effective source control is a key element of these.I've worked with too many tools, especially in the BI/MIS arena where some-one thought that a flash GUI trumped all other considerations.
RE: source control
Please consider Report Server users! Not everything is in the cloud :)
RE: source control
Any updates since on October 17th you said this was planned and you'll provide further feedback?
RE: source control
In 2 Years, this idea will be 10 years old. This would be a game changer for Power BI since reporting is more complex than ever requiring more people to work on the same projects and bugs are not tolerated in BI which critically influence business decisions.
RE: source control
if pbi wants to be a serious platform in companies, it's a must to have co-development features as a standard.versioning, branching, merging, deployment (ci/cd) by git as a standard.and this for the full development of reports & data model
RE: source control
This really required feature for any type of license we hold (Pro or PPU or Premium Capacity). For Microsoft I don't think it is big deal to achieve.
