Ability to exclude a table from Data Refresh (scheduled, manual, API, etc.) in the Service.
In PBI Desktop, we have an option "Include in report refresh" we can disable for a table. But it won't affect PBI Service.

This feature was clearly never completed e2e (happens). And now you have enough votes to justify scheduling its completion (necessary for prioritization). Let's do it :)

Looks like it was also raised here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/Bug-in-quot-Don-t-include-in-Report-Refresh-quot/idc-p/112237#M1627 and resolved as By Design, but then how do you cache static result in PQ so you don't hit the source every single time? It's something I want to load once and then merge with other dynamically refreshing tables as needed.

A simple fix to this would be to have PQ convert result of a query marked not to be refreshed to a static table, similar to what we can do with Enter Data option: Table.FromRows(Json.Document(Binary.Decompress(Binary.FromText(...

Very misleading functionality as it currently exists and has led to many production issues.

Why is it that this issue has been reported since 2018 and still has not been resolved? Is there any intention to address it?

RE: Exclude a table from refresh in Power BI Service

It has taken me 3 days to figure out that this is what the problem has been for weeks with scheduled refreshes in the Power BI service that fail trying to refresh a table I've disabled load for. Why in the name of all that's holy would the service query a table that you've marked not to query? I agree with the comment that this is a bug, rather than an enhancement. I've needed to completely delete queries that I disabled in Desktop because they were failing in the service.

Any update on this?
I have tables coming from both: Business Central (dynamic data that need to be refreshed 8 times a day) & Azure SQL database (fix data that needs to be refreshed only once a week)

This is a bug, not an enhancement. It needs to be prioritized and fixed as a bug (i.e. asap)

I support the need to exclude tables from refresh in Service.

I have a combination of Onedrive Excel files and Oracle tables. I used Web connector as well as DirectQuery Oracle connector. I will exclude the Oracle tables from refreshing in Desktop, but this is not possible in Service. And the Scheduled Refresh fails.

Please fix this issue so that I can archive tables with "As of" dates.
