I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.

This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.

In addition to this please consider our request too for the matrix visual in power BI which is allow filter conditions on Columns field in the matrix visual.

BI Helper Matrix is a Chrome extension to export matrix and table visuals in Power BI to Excel. Retains visual formatting and matrix data pivots. Works with all tables and 2 x 2 (row x column) matrix drill-downs.

So ridiculous to have to deal with this still today, knowing there is SSRS since the early 2000's and other BI tools allow this seamlessly

The ability to export a matrix visual as it was created is essential to presenting the data in a logical fashion.

To the people asking for a third party workaround I found BI Helper (bihelper.tech). Search for the Matrix Solution. It's not free tho but with the demo I can tell it's great

Being able to carry the boards would be great. Not being able to do so transforms this tool into an excellent one, since when exporting the information the data must be worked from scratch.

(Thanks for your feedback on this issue - while we'd like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn't a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.)

it is really maddening that they do not realize that this development is for the end users who are the ones who occupy the bi. It is really frustrating to explain that something so logical does not work in power bi, considering that it is also a microsoft program just like excel.

RE: Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual

Really needed, people want to export the Matrix overviews and just get something they dont understand or have to use PivotTable in Excel to try and get what they need. Not really customer friendly or "i don't know how excel works"-friendly ;)
