The filled map chart in Excel (Office 2021) is far better than the same available in the latest version of Power BI (June,2024). Similarly, it is worse than the similar chart in Tableau.
Power BI allocates completely different color to each value in a matrix (field or column). Therefore, it is very difficult to identify the difference between the values, even the smallest and the largest value. Also, the legends have a long list of values and colors, having completely different color for every single value.
In Excel and Tableau both, we can define the color scale/scheme for smallest and largest value or vice versa, which gradually changes according to the value of the matrix. Looking at the legends anyone can easily understand the difference in the values by change in color. If someone want to achieve the same thing in Power BI, he/she should define color of each value one by one.
Also there seems an issue, the map shows name of every country, state and some important cities by default, which is not at all required unless it is explicitly demanded by the user.
