As in Excel, it would be nice to be able to add or remove subtotals by column for Matrix Visualization instead of having either totals for all columns or none.

It will be a good idea to have this actually do it both ways. A way to just show grand totals and not sub totals and a way to show sub totals and not grand totals.

It would be a desirable feature to disable the subtotals for some columns in Matrix visualization. I wonder why it cant be done in Power BI yet when other reporting tools like Birst have it.

I support this suggestion! At this point for example, I need to disable a subtotal of a column that contains text and I can not.

It would be great to be able to turn Grand Totals and/or subtotals on or off independent of each other.

I think this would be very useful as there are numerous instances where it makes business sense to subtotal some of the columns in a given row, but not all. Also if the column happens to be tests vs. a number, current option is to select first, last, count etc. For text fields many times I just want to show nothing in the subtotal for that row.

When you have groups and subgroups, in my data, there are cases where there is only 1 subgroup to a group. In that case, the subtotal is redundant and takes up (sometimes) valuable screen space.
Would love for that to be the automatic behavior. Or at least be an option, like many of the other column parameters.

'@Kate, this is not already available as the current option allows all or none but now a fine level of control like in Excel Pivot Tables. We need the option to choose which subtitles are shows and which are not.
