Instead of having the current pop-up window for personalizing a visual in a report, couldn't it be like the filter pane, opening on the right side and editable width so that the attributes description can be seen in the case it is too long to fit the default width?
Implementing this would also make the personalize visuals more like Excel ad-hoc report experience which the users are already used to.
Another option would be having it as a draggable and resizable window.
