It would be great to conditional format a table and/or a matrix based on the cell text, not only numbers

This month we added the ability to format text fields based off a numeric field: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-2018-feature-summary/#conditionalFormatting We also are planning on adding a feature that will let you format your text based on comparisons. I'll update this idea based on our progress on that feature.

RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
Woo Hoo conditional formatting on text!
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
Unfortunately, this new ability doesn't solve the problem as in order to get text formatting I would have to create a bogus measure and have that show up in the table in order to get formatting on the important item which is text.
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
Happy "PLANNED" status for conditional formatting Text.
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
When is able to compare versus another value from datasource or at least one other column in the same table? all people need this upgrade
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
This is coming in May I was told :)
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
A basic feature is to be able to compare vs. a measures or table values, not just hardcoded values on the rule.
RE: Conditional Formatting for Text
'Two very important things for me:
- Highlighting the whole row in a table based on single measure.
- Highlighting the whole row in a table based on dimension in the table (for example: paint each department in its own color).
