Power BI designer should integrate Power Map design experience, don't let Power Map just like a stand-along part of Power BI...

We are looking to improve our maps. A new Shape Map control is expected in the summer which will solve some of these issues.

Totally agree with all comments below. Hope Microsoft is listening as it really seems like common sense to merge these two things...

For an international organisation a Power Map is the way to go. I wish the Maps in BI would offer at least drill down features, or to be able to add some more data to the bubble (such as % increase measure AND the underlying sales figure).
Giving this 3 votes because everybody loves the maps.

I would love to develop the 3 Dimensional PowerMaps in Power BI. Can we get this added?

Integrating PowerMap would make PowerBI a much more compelling offering. It has some great functionality that should sit within this stack

The ability to add layers to the map is all crucial.

Yes. Power map has some great features that are missing from power view. In particular:
1. The ability to aggregate point data (latitude / longitude) at a region level (postal code).
2. Treat point data on a map as a heat map instead of a point.
It would be great to get these two features in 2d maps in power view.

This is something we are waiting for, the ability to upload a interactive power Map to Dash board, in case this take some time try to make possible to upload power Map video to Power View canvas or dashboard link
