I would like to propose an enhancement for the Date Range Picker visual in Power BI. Specifically, I believe it would be very useful if users could define default values for the "From" and "To" dates when the report is loaded. My ideal default behavior would be for both the "From" and "To" fields to automatically select the current date. This would provide immediate context for daily data and reduce the need for repetitive manual selection. Of course, users should still be able to adjust the range as needed afterward. I would like to suggest a Global Workspace feature in Power BI that enables centralized report design management with automatic propagation to multiple Sub-Workspaces, each configured with its own client-specific data source. This would remove the need to duplicate and maintain separate report versions for each client or data environment. The core design elements—such as visuals, layout, bookmarks, and themes—would remain in the Global Workspace, and any updates made there would reflect across all linked Sub-Workspaces without affecting their individual data connections. The current card visual forces users to overlap elements or waste copious amounts of time creating custom visuals. The new card feature should give users the ability to create multiple cards in a single container and provide a greater level of customization. ... View more

It would be beneficial to incorporate features from Pivot tables that allow for the expansion and collapse of columns and hierarchical column groups within tabular visuals. This would not only solve the current limitations of matrices but also provide report creators with the flexibility to hide and show rows and columns, saving these settings for future use, thus eliminating the need to scroll through irrelevant data. ... Enabling customized calculations at the query level for subtotals and grand totals would offer greater flexibility in reporting and preserve performance. Efficient organization of control settings to modify the style of these totals separately will empower report creators to achieve their desired appearance, while addressing their need for more control and customization in reporting. ... I can't see the column names and cell values in some of the columns in my tables in SQL Analytics Endpoint because the column width is too narrow.   Also, the tooltip also doesn't show the entire cell contents when hovering over a cell.   Please make it possible to see the entire contents of a cell in the SQL Analytics Endpoint user interface. ... We currently use Azure DevOps pipeline to manage our CI/CD, much like https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/cicd/deployment-pipelines/pipeline-automation-fabric . However, because not all Fabric REST Api's support Service Principal authentication, our CI/CD Pipeline has to use a service user account (with disabled MFA) to authenticate our requests to e.g. trigger a deployment https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/fabric/core/deployment-pipelines/deploy-stage-content?tabs=HTTP . Unfortunately the next version Azure Connect-AzAccount will no longer support MFA from July 2025 - see Upcoming breaking changes in Azure PowerShell | Microsoft Learn . The impact of multifactor authentication on Azure PowerShell in automation scenarios | Microsoft Learn is that this change will prevent it's use in automation tasks, and so users need to switch to using either a service principal, managed identity, or a federated identity. Currently Service Principal authentication is not supported for the key Fabric REST Api calls needed for our CI/CD pipeline, for example deploying to stages, scheduling pipelines, invoking notebooks.   Please advise how we can prevent our automation pipelines breaking later this year?   We would expect service principals to have to be supported at some point in the future for deployment pipeline and for running notebooks and pipelines, but because I haven't been able to find this on e.g. What's new and planned for Fabric Data Engineering in Microsoft Fabric - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn we now need urgently need clarity on the timescale. ... Considering the most powerful and versatile machines are being built on ARM processors and many developers preferring these machines due to the extended battery life, or performance per watt, I think it would be critical for Microsoft to start developing Power BI Desktop to be fully compatible with ARM64 processors. Currently the new Key Vault reference feature only allows to use a KV with public access from all networks.  However most customers cannot have Key Vaults open to public which makes this feature unusable at the moment.  Could you extend this to work with network-restricted Key Vaults? ... Hi Microsoft Fabric Community,   We observes a behaivor that the Excel file downloaded from the summarized data exporting feature from Power BI embedded reports shows a message “We found a problem with some content in 'exportname.xlsx'. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.” when it is opened. This message may affect users' trust regarding the data source.    It would be better if we can address this behavior in the future to enhance user experience. The primary axis are outdated and require significant improvement when compared to Excel. This makes it difficult for report creators and often leads to problems when trying to manage and style them effectively. By offering more format settings, greater control over displayed data can be provided, especially if axis ticks, new gridlines, and separators are also included. ... View more

I'd like to see Power BI read and populate metadata from database source tables/columns and populate the description field in the power bi semantic model for those same tables and columns.  Instead what I have to do now is maintain that metadata in two different locations (Eg maintaining table/coulmn description in Snowflake) and maintain that same metadata in my power bi semantic model.   thanks for consideration.   Brian ...
