The newly available groups cannot be custom sorted unless additional sort column for this group is added in the model which is not so good. While creating the custom groups, Arrow buttons to move groups Up Down should be available and this order should be used by default sorting unless the user wants to sort asc or desc by some measure.

The fact that this even has to be a "feature" is a severe lack of understanding of what clients need. The workarounds don't even work half of the time as they are calculations dependent on the original, calculated field, leading to circular reference errors.

Such a basic feature... QlikSense handles this nicely, providing for both scalar (for sorting/collation) and textual representation of categorical data. PLEASE ADD THIS BASIC UI FEATURE as a workaround at least... :-) Thank you

This is so basic I'm shocked it's even a feature request - and one that needs votes!
Groups are essentially worthless without the ability to sort them by my own custom desires.

The order should not be High Low Medium (HLM)... Please let us decide the order.

I think it would be nice if Power BI had a way to keep track of columns that are purely derived from other columns so that you could sort by them when grouping.
My specific use case is converting semantic version strings like 3.6.11 to 003.006.011 so that it sorts correctly against 3.6.9 which becomes 003.006.009. Since this is a purely derived field it could be treated as grouped when the field it is derived from is grouped. This would allow it to be used for sorting
